Overview 
An alleged armed robber who was shot by a Columbus Police officer is dead, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Willie James Williams, 27, was transported to Midtown Medical Center Wednesday night after police say he was involved in an armed robbery. Special Agent In Charge Wayne Smith told the Ledger-Enquirer he died Thursday morning.
