Tristan Vent, a 19-year-old Galena man was shot by Alaska State Troopers on Sept. 8 in Fairbanks and has died of his injuries, according to police. Troopers say Tristan Vent was contacted by troopers during a traffic stop near the ball fields when authorities saw he had been driving a stolen vehicle. Vent was armed, troopers said, and authorities opened fire when attempts to negotiate and use less-lethal force were unsuccessful.
