More details have been revealed in the aftermath of a shooting in Arlington Friday night that left a suspect dead and an Arlington police officer critically injured.

Officers found 2.05 oz. of marijuana and two digital scales in the black Toyota Corolla Jessica Lee Lawson was driving, according to police spokesman Lt. Chris Cook. The officer who started the traffic stop initially called in backup because he smelled marijuana, Cook wrote in an email.

Two officers showed up to the scene, one of which was the officer who got shot by Treshun Symone Miller after Miller tried to run away.

The officer who was shot remains in the hospital with a critical injury to his pelvic area. The officer who made the traffic stop and shot Miller has been placed on routine administrative leave.
