A man living on a houseboat was shot and killed by Vallejo police after he pointed a modified flare gun at an officer, authorities said Wednesday.
Timothy John Walker, 40, was shot at the marina at 42 Harbor Way shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday. He died at a local hospital.
According to Vallejo police officials, the incident began when officers responded to reports of a loud fight on a boat. When they arrived, they contacted Walker and shot him when he pointed a flare gun, modified to look like a shotgun, at an officer, officials said.
The name of the officer involved in the shooting wasn’t released.
