Overview

Tavon Desean Jenkins, 24, and Cassandra Marie Braun, 26, were killed in an automobile accident involving the 2011 Chevy Malibu they were driving and a marked Arkansas State Police vehicle. Trooper First Class Brian Burke was behind the wheel of the ASP vehicle. Jenkins and Braun were pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck happened just after 9:15 p.m., as Hot Springs Police Department officers were called to the 1300 block of Airport Road, near Kleinshore Rd.

The two people inside the 2011 Chevy Malibu, Tavon Desean Jenkins, 24, and Cassandra Marie Braun, 26, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, with accident reconstruction underway. Witnesses are being interviewed, and data is also being collected from the ASP vehicle involved.
