A Vallejo police officer shot and killed a Fairfield man early Saturday after the man allegedly attacked the officer with his baton, authorities said.
Roylan Tugade, 42, was shot about 7 a.m. during a struggle inside a 10th- floor apartment at 601 Sacramento St., said Vallejo police Lt. Eric Mortenson.
The name of the officer, a four-year veteran, was not released. He was placed on routine paid administrative leave pending investigations by Vallejo police and the Solano County district attorney's office.
