A 72-year-old man who was killed in an officer- involved shooting in Granada Hills after allegedly confronting an officer with a rifle was identified today by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Robert Reagh Gillon was shot and killed just before midnight Monday by an LAPD officer at the rear of single-family house on the 12700 block of Woodley Avenue, said Sgt. Jose Valley of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Station.
Gillon had allegedly been firing his weapon, said Sgt. Jerretta Sandoz of LAPD Media Relations. No officers were injured, she said.
Neighbors said Gillon had had past confrontations with police, according to a news videographer.
