A man suspected of gunning down his wife was shot and killed by Vallejo police Saturday in the city’s second fatal officer-involved shooting in four days, authorities said.
The most recent incident happened about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, when officers responded to reports that someone had been shot in an alley near the 800 block of Butte Street, police said.
An officer found 49-year-old Nadia Duwebi dead from gunshot wounds and was directed by a witness to her husband, 57-year-old Mohammed Naas, who was standing behind a nearby car, authorities said. As the officer approached Naas, he pointed a handgun at the officer, prompting the officer to fire at the man in self-defense, police said.
Naas died at a local hospital. He owned Cyber Computers, a business located near where the shooting occurred. On a listing on Yelp, Naas wrote that he had served the Vallejo community since 1997. “We will provide you with the most pleasant experience when you come in and visit us,” he wrote.
