Overview

Police said Miguel Angel, Chavez-Angles was shot and killed by an officer near NW 23rd and Classen.

Police said Chavez was running from a vandalized vehicle near NW 11th and Walker with a large rock in his possession and got into another car, according to witnesses.

Police said it was later determined that Chavez forced his way into the car and made two female victims drive against their will.

Police said Chavez left the vehicle in the 900 block of NW 23rd, ran into a business and locked himself inside. According to police, the business owner forced him out and that's when he got onto a metro bus.

Police said all of the people on the bus were able to get off the bus before any altercations happened. Police said Officer Heather Lane got onto the bus and there was a struggle for her gun. One shot was fired from her gun. According to police, Officer Daniel Carli got on the bus to help Lane. He fired one shot and killed Chavez.
