Overview 
Police shot and killed a man who struck a police dog with a hammer and then attempted to attack officers late Tuesday night in a north Stockton neighborhood, authorities said.
Friends and relatives disputed the Police Department’s version of events, saying Nuu dropped the hammer when he was Tased. They insisted that he was unarmed and stumbling toward the ground when officers opened fire.
