Overview 
According to Kern County Sheriff's Office, the California Highway Patrol got a call at 7:18 p.m. about a reckless driver, identified as Marvin Alexis Urbina.
Officers reportedly spotted Urbina at the base of the grapevine and tried to stop him, but he fled.
Officials say about one mile later, Urbina crashed into someone else's car on the I-5 near Laval Road. The driver that was hit by Urbina was reportedly not injured and not taken to the hospital.
The officer-involved shooting took place shortly after that crash, and Urbina was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:42 p.m.
