Overview 
Wapato police say the y shot and killed 38 year-old Mario Martinez Torres while responding to a domestic violence situation.
Two Wapato Police Officers were placed on paid administrative leave after the shooting.
Police said Torres was shot by one of the responding officers and died at the scene.
Legal Action
August 2016 Wapato Mayor in talks with Department of Justice.
On October 20, 2016, Yakima County’s top prosecutor ruled that the police officer was justified in fatally shooting Torres and will not face charges.
