Overview 
It was a routine commute on Memorial Boulevard for Linel Marie Vega-Ortiz in the early morning hours of June 5.
The 38-year-old was returning home from work when a man fleeing Lakeland police ran a red light at Lakeshore Drive and crashed into her Mitsubishi, police said.
Vega-Ortiz died at the crash scene about 12:45 a.m. when her car slammed into a utility pole after it was struck by a Cadillac driven by Cleon Nathaniel Truedell. Truedell, 33, of Plant City, was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where he later died.
