Overview
According to her father, the tragic events of 9/11 inspired Lavena to serve her country as a member of the U.S. Army. After high school, she enlisted and deployed to Iraq. Eight weeks later she was found dead with a broken nose, black eye and gunshot wound to the head. It was ruled a suicide.
