Overview 
Alameda Police Lt. Greg Garrett declined to identify the family members, but The Chronicle has learned that two police officers shot Karen O. Chin, 44, numerous times in the chest after they saw her stabbing her 53-year-old sister, Yvonne Chin, in the upper body with a pair of scissors.
Karen Chin was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m. Yvonne Chin underwent surgery at the hospital yesterday and was listed in stable condition.
