It is unknown at this time if anyone was injured or killed in the shooting.

The Spirit Lake Police Department refused to comment.

FBI spokesman Kyle Loven says 31-year-old Joseph Charboneau was shot by Bureau of Indian Affairs officers on June 16.

Loven says the officers went to a residence to arrest another person, and got into an altercation where Charboneau was shot. Loven says no one else was hurt.
