Jeffrey Wayne Price, riding a dirt bike at the time was killed in a crash with a D.C. police SUV in Northeast on Friday. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that around 1:49 p.m., Price was riding a dirt bike northbound in the 500 block of Division Avenue on the wrong side of the roadway.
While the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Division Avenue, police say it struck a marked police vehicle.
A witness to the crash tells DCW50 she believes the police cruiser pulled out in front of the dirt bike as it began driving down Division Avenue.
Dirt bikes and ATV's are illegal on city roadways in D.C., and police have made it clear, despite their "no chase" policy, that they will not be tolerated.

Some family members and friends, pointing to pictures of the scene and roadway markings that appear to detail the crash, also raised questions on Saturday.
"You can tell what actually really happened there’s no reason that the police truck would be all the way on this side of the road."
