A Northglenn police officer was shot and a suspect was shot and killed as police executed a narcotics search warrant at home on the morning of May 28, 2015.
Shot twice, the officer was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, said Northglenn Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Ron Haralson. A spokesperson at Denver Health Medical Center confirmed the officer was taken to their facility.
Haralson said the officer would be released from the hospital later that day.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m., on East 109th Place near Muriel Drive, near the intersection of Muriel Drive and Washington Street.
Officers used a battering-ram to open the front door of the home while executing their no-knock narcotics raid. The shooting occurred inside the home, said Haralson.
7NEWS reporter Russell Haythorn said several people were in the house when the shooting happened. Five adults and three juveniles were taken into custody.
On August 15, 2015, it was reported that no criminal charges would be filed against the two officers who shot and killed James Edward Strong.
