Overview 
The police officers were walking toward the man, identified by relatives as Ismael Miranda, 36, near Summer and Oak streets about 2 a.m. when he began firing at them, authorities said.
Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale confirmed that his officers were involved in a fatal shooting and that they were treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for trauma.
