Isaac Jackson, 42, of Louisville, was shot multiple times by a police officer, according to coroner Barbra Weakley-Jones.
Police arrived to a call of a family disturbance in the 400 block of North 42nd Street. One of those family members was a man armed with numerous knives, according to police.
He attacked an officer, injuring him, said LMPD Chief Steve Conrad, and then another officer shot the man.
Both the injured officer and the man were taken to University of Louisville Hospital. The man was later pronounced dead.
