Overview 
Eduardo Reyes, 35, was pronounced dead at the apartment complex where he lived in the 7500 block of Greenback Lane after exchanging gunfire with police. Police were called about 7:20 p.m. Monday to the complex for a domestic dispute between Reyes and his wife. Initial reports to police dispatchers indicated that the man had hurt his wife and that he was armed with a handgun. When officers arrived, the man began shooting at them from the advantage of a second-floor landing of the couple’s apartment, police said. Four officers returned gunfire, shooting and killing Reyes. He was pronounced dead at 7:46 p.m.
