47 year old Che Taylor was fatally shot by two Seattle police officers Sunday, February 21, 2016, when police say he reached for a handgun after ignoring commands to show his hands and get on the ground, 

Police released graphic dashboard-camera video and a detailed description of the incident, in what appeared to be an effort to quickly provide information on the shooting of the African-American man, identified as 47-year-old Che Andre Taylor.

In December 2020, the City of Seattle agreed to pay the family of Che Taylor $1.5 million to settle a federal civil rights lawsuit filed after two police officers shot and killed Taylor outside a Wedgwood neighborhood home.
