Overview 
Brian Bellamy was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting in Pitt County early Sunday morning, April 1, 2018. Greenville Police responded to the 700 block of Fox Chase Lane just before 2 a.m. after receiving a 911 call of a domestic-related stabbing.
According to a news release from the Greenville Police Department, the first officer who arrived on scene found the Bellamy, a 41-year-old male, holding a large knife. The officer asked him to drop the knife and the suspect did not comply. The suspect then advanced on the officer with the knife and the officer drew his work-issued firearm and shot and killed the suspect.
