Overview 
A Pueblo police officer shot and killed an armed wanted person Friday whom police were in the process of helping the Colorado Department of Corrections fugitive unit track down on the West Side.
Around 11:38 a.m., police had responded and were assisting the DOC fugitive unit in locating the wanted suspect in the area of the 3100 block of West 27th Street.
Police said that the suspect fled on foot and a Pueblo police officer gave chase.
According to police, the suspect produced a handgun and the officer fired, fatally shooting the suspect.
