Overview 
The incident unfolded about 3:30 p.m. with reports of a driver speeding on C-470 and passing cars on the shoulder of the highway, said Mark Techmeyer, a sheriff’s spokesman. The driver of the car exited C-470 at South Kipling Parkway and headed north.
A deputy came upon the car, which was unoccupied, at an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store, 8134 S. Kipling Pkwy. A short time later, the suspected driver exited the store and got into the car.
The deputy got out of his patrol car and a confrontation between the suspect and deputy ensued, Techmeyer said. The deputy fired his weapon, hitting and killing the suspect.
