26-year-old Armando Salvatierra was shot and killed by police officers near the SAP Center in San Jose on Sunday according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
According to police, when officers arrived on scene, they located a man in the middle of the intersection, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police say they spotted the suspect who was on scene and armed with a knife. The suspect did not comply with officers' commands to drop the knife.
The suspect reportedly advanced on the officers, and discharged their firearms in response.
Body cameras were used.
The officers were not injured.
The San Jose Police Department identified the four officers involved in the deadly confrontation as Thomas Barnard, Pete Christian, Oscar Medina and Armando Ramos.
