Overview

Two officers fatally shot Anthony Taylor, 49, of Milwaukee, outside a bar. The officer-involved shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday at Lounge 340 near North Vel R. Phillips and West Reservoir avenues.

Investigators said while they were responding to a call for a man with a gun, the call was upgraded to a shots fired call.

Taylor and his wife own the bar with another couple.

The wife of the man Milwaukee police fatally shot over the weekend said her husband was rampaging through the bar she owned, threatening to kill her, before officers arrived.

Kamesha Taylor said she was in the process of separating with her husband, 49-year-old Anthony Taylor, but he hadn't tried to hurt her before Saturday night.

The two officers confronted Taylor, investigators said, and that's when they fatally shot him.
