Overview

The driver of a moped was killed when a Greenville County deputy struck him from behind while passing another vehicle, according to the county coroner's office.

Alan Craig Williams, 47, of 1409 White Horse Road Ext., Travelers Rest, was killed in the accident near 3598 Poinsett Highway and Roe Ford Road, according to the coroner's office.

Lance Cpl.Tony Keller of the state Highway Patrol said the driver of the car was Harold Robinson, 32. He was not injured. The moped driver was not wearing a helmet and was ejected in the collision, Keller said.
