Overview 
Sheriff's deputies found the man in a pickup in brush behind his house, which is between Aransas Pass and Ingleside off Farm-to-Market Road 1069, Moody said.
The man seemed excited and agitated, and at some point he got out of his vehicle with a pistol in his hand, Moody said.
"He pointed a gun at the deputy who responded," Moody said.
At some point, he said, the man fired a shot.
