Overview

Agents say the incident at Valley High Apartment on Edgewood Road started out as a domestic disturbance between 25-year-old Markell Bivins and a woman. They say the woman was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. They believe Bivins stabbed her. She is expected to live.

Both officers shot their guns during the incident and Bivins died. The release from the DCI doesn't indicate what Bivins did to make the officers use deadly force.

The DCI won't release the officer's names until after they've been interviewed in the next few days.

Investigators have not released details on exactly what prompted the domestic disturbance call.
