Limestone County Inmate Madalyn Michelle Banks was assigned to B-5 at the Limestone County Jail. At approximately 2:50 am Inmate Banks cell partner Ava Welch, notified jailer, Celia Garrison, that Inmate Banks was ill. Staff arrived at the cell and observed Inmate Banks condition. Inmate Banks appeared weak and was having difficulty breathing. A wheelchair was brought to the cell and prior to its arrival, Inmate Banks lost consciousness and staff could not feel a pulse. Life saving techniques were initiated by staff and L.C.S.O. dispatch was notified to call EMS to the jail. Limestone Medical Center/EMS arrived at approximately 3:11 am and they continued treating Inmate Banks. She was transported to the Limestone Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 4:31 am. Dr. T. Dannemiller was the attending E.R. physician. Judge Ray Jones, Justice of the Peace #4 was notified and he arrived at approximately 5:50 a.m. Judge Jones ordered Inmate Banks body be transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Inmate Banks body was picked up at 7:10 am and transported by Pearly Gates Funeral Home staff to the Dallas County Medical Examiners Office.
