Overview 
Deputy McElvany was notified by inmates housed in 4A pod that inmate Reeves was not breathing. Deputies McElvany and Detention Officer Jones called for medical assistance, which arrived shortly. Medical staff proceeded with CPR and escorted inmate Reeves to the 1200 Baker Street Detention Facility clinic. The Houston Fire Department was then notified to respond, at which point Reeves was transported to Ben Taub Hospital. Throughout the entire incident and transport, Reeves was receiving CPR by medical personnel. At 1445 hours, Reeves was pronounced deceased by Dr. C. Eckman. The body of the deceased was released to Nurse Manager Coleen Bates at 1645 hours.
