Overview 
Huntsville Police say a man shot around 10:45 Wednesday night has died.
Investigators identified the man as Jason Akeem Lewis. Madison County Jail Chief Steve Morrison now confirms Madison County Detention Center Officer Jeremy Primus is accused of shooting Lewis at the Twickenham Apartments on Galaxy Way.
Paramedics rushed Lewis to Huntsville Hospital with a gun shot wound to the chest. At the time, he was in critical condition, but later died at the hospital.
According to Chief Morrison, Primus left the scene and later turned himself in to the Huntsville Police Department on Wheeler Avenue.
