Overview 
Jared Johnson was fatally wounded Tuesday, April 28 when two New Orleans police officers opened fire on suspected robbers at an eastern New Orleans Dollar General store. He was shot multiple times, including a fatal wound through his heart and lung, Orleans Parish Coroner, Dr. Jeffrey Rouse, said Thursday. Johnson's death has been preliminarily classified as a homicide, Rouse said, while also noting that the medical classification for homicide does not imply any criminal intent or legal wrongdoing.
