Overview

A 41-year-old man who police found fighting with two others died after being hit by an electronic stun gun by police Saturday, authorities said.

Police responded to the fight, in the 4200 block of South Richmond Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, about 2:05 p.m.

The man battered officers when they tried to break up the fight, police said, so they used the stun gun on him.

Officers called for an ambulance. Francisco Rocha, 41, of the 3500 block of West 38th Street, was pronounced dead at Saint Anthony Hospital at 2:58 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
