Overview 
A Texas Ranger’s investigation into the fatal shooting of a drug suspect by a Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator continued Friday.
Ranger Michael Adcock was informed of the shooting minutes after the drug search on Monday in Hidden Hills Harbor near Payne Springs in which 33-year-old Daniel Richard Vasquez was killed.
Sheriff’s Office reports indicate several officers arrived at the residence on Channel View in Hidden Hills Harbor at about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday to execute a search warrant. During the procedure, Vasquez was wounded and transported to East Texas Medical Center in Gun Barrel City where he was pronounced dead by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Dale Blaylock.
During the course of the search an HCSO investigator shot Vasquez. Details concerning the circumstances that led to the shooting were not released.
