Overview 
Galmon, known by friends and family as “DeeJay,” was inside the Louisiana venue Club 81 when police arrived, responding to a call about a fight. Earlier that night, Galmon's mother, Willene Briggs, stopped by the club to give her son money, not knowing that'd be the last time she'd see him alive. While clearing the club’s parking lot, officers were told that a second man allegedly had a gun on him, and as he tried running from the scene, they chased him along Highway 51. Galmon approached the deputies while they were holding the other man down on the ground. One of the cops shot Galmon, who was unarmed.
