The man killed by an Owsley County deputy has been identified by family members.
Family tells LEX 18 that 42-year-old Charles Harris was killed during a domestic dispute. A deputy was called to the scene of an apartment on Booneville Home Road.
They tell LEX 18 that Harris got into a fight with his girlfriend inside an apartment with his sister and two teenage children inside.
According to Kentucky State Police, Harris had a knife. The deputy then shot him. KSP is now being called to investigate, as is protocol with officer-involved shootings.
The deputy's name has not been released.
